BCAC organized a virtual symposium entitled: "A Novel of Rosy Dreams: An Introductory symposium" that was delivered by Ms. Reham Taema, a writer, publisher and entrepreneur. The event was attended by His Excellency Ambassador Mohamed Fakhry - Consul General of Egypt in Montreal, Counselor Marwa Shawky - at the Egyptian Consulate General in Montreal, and a distinguished group of members of the Egyptian community in Canada. The meeting was moderated by Dr. Ahmed Fawzy. At the beginning of the lecture, Ms. Reham Taema spoke about the importance of reading for society, and how to promote reading, especially among children and youth. She also talked about the most important challenges facing the book, such as electronic challenges. She also explained the characteristics of the distinguished writer, and she also talked about her first publication, the novel "Rosy Dreams".
Within the framework of developing the work skills of the BCAC staff, Dr. Ahmed Fawzy trained the team on how to manage oneself. The training included several important points, including the matrix of time management, the wheel of life, the importance of setting goals for self-development, and a case study for discussion. At the end of the training, certificates of attendance and completion of the training were distributed, signed by Dr. Ahmed Fawzy.
In an atmosphere of cordiality and respect, BCAC organized a celebration inside the office's headquarters to honour Mrs. Manal Taher - Financial and Administrative Attaché. This step comes to develop and motivate the team in the office in order to highlight their talents and abilities and encourage them to give more and be more productive at work, and in order to encourage others to persevere. Mrs. Manal Taher received a certificate of appreciation from the office - signed by Dr. Ahmed Fawzy - in appreciation of her efforts.
In the presence of His Excellency Ambassador Ahmed Hafez - Egyptian Ambassador to Canada, Dr. Ahmed Fawzy in cooperation with the Egyptian Canadian Cultural Association of Ottawa (ECCAO) headed by Mr. Khaled Badawy, participated in the Annual World Multicultural Festival in Ottawa, in its fifth edition. Seventy countries participated in the festival, including Egypt - Canada - Argentina - Greece - Sudan - India - Pakistan - China - Brazil - Morocco - Djibouti - Yemen - Bulgaria - Chile - Congo - Mexico. The festival included many musical and artistic performances that express the different cultures of the participating countries. In the festival, Egypt presented a workshop on mummification in ancient Egypt, in which adults and children participated, and it was well received by the audience. Egypt also presented a music show for Egyptian youth, through which they played the guitar for several Egyptian songs expressing Egyptian folklore. Within the framework of the cultural and tourism promotion of Egypt in Canada, the Egyptian Cultural and Educational Office in Montreal participated in displaying replicas of some pharaonic statues and tourism and cultural brochures about Egypt were also distributed to the guests in both English and French.
At the kind invitation of the Society for the Study of Egyptian Antiquities - Montreal Chapter, Dr. Ahmed Fawzy attended an online event entitled "New Perspectives on Private Religious Practices: The Recent Discovery of the Chapel of an Ancestor of the Eighteenth Dynasty in Tell Edfu" - in French. The lecturer, Ms. Nadine Moeller from Yale University, USA, dealt with the discovery of a large urban villa with an area of more than 500 square meters, with a small chapel dedicated to the worship of the ancestors in the corner of the main hall.
At the kind invitation of Dr. Ahmed Fawzy, Cultural Attaché and BCAC's Director, BCAC received Mr. Dan Frederick - Director of Global Engagement at the University of Alberta, in an atmosphere of cordiality and mutual respect. The meeting covered ways of cooperation between the University of Alberta and the Egyptian side, through coordination with the Egyptian Cultural Affairs and Missions Sector.
