World Hepatitis Day
In the framework of
following up the recommendations of the videoconference on hepatitis C, held on
15 April 2009, The Bureau of Cultural and Educational Affaire in Montréal -
Canada, in cooperation with the Egyptian Students Association in North America
(ESANA) Montréal, the Centre Hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CHUM) and
the National Canadian Research Program in Hepatitis C, organized a conference in
the occasion of the World Hepatitis Day on the 19th of May
2009.
During her speech, Prof. Dr. Nebal El Tanbouly, Consul, Egyptian
Cultural & Educational Affaires, confirmed on the necessity of collaboration
between the medical and research institutions in both countries to control the
epidemic transmission of viral hepatitis and implement new methods for the
prevention and treatment of this disease.
Participants from the Canadian part
are:
1.Prof Dr. Naglaa Shoukry, University of Montréal - Director, Viral
hepatitis research group, CRCHUM, who focused on her speech on new research
strategies for developing vaccines.
2.Prof. Dr. Marc Bilodeau, Director,
National Canadian Research Program in Hepatitis C, who explained the screening,
diagnostic and current protocols of therapy utilized in Canada.
The
speech of the ESANA was delivered by the Egyptian Doctoral student Mohamed
