Official visit to the University of Sherbrooke
On the 27th of April 2009, Prof. Dr. Nebal El Tanbouly, Consul, Egyptian Cultural & Educational Affaires held an official visit to the University of Sherbrooke and she met with :
· Mr. Mario Laforest, Directeur & Vice-recteur associé, Agence des Relation International
· Dr. Réjean Hébert, Doyen, Faculté de Médecine et de Sciences de la Santé
· Dr. Javier Teijiera, Cardio-thoracic surgeon
· Dr. Donald W. Thomas, Dean of Sciences
· Dr. Radhouane Masmoudi, Associate Dean - Research
· Dr. Rami Kotb, Associate Professor, Haematologist-Oncologist
· Dr. Sherif Abou Elela, Professor, Department of microbiology & infectiology, and Director Laboratory
for Functional Genomics
· Dr. Walid Abou Arab, Fellow, Thoracic surgery department
· Dr. Vincent Echavé, Thoracic Surgeon
· Dr. Marco Sirois, Head of the Thoracic Surgery Departemnt
· Prof. Luc Mathieu, Vice-doyen aux science infirmière
And focused on the following objectives:
1. Opening channels of collaboration between the faculty of Medicine in the University of Sherbrooke
and the French undergraduate medical program integrated in the Faculty of Medicine, Alexandria
University.
2. Holding a protocol framework specifying different modules of collaboration i.e.:
- Joint degree program in specific research areas
- Post graduate grants for motivated students
- Financing the extension period (from 3 to 6 months) for hiring doctoral and post doctoral visitor
students who are sponsored by the Egyptian government (See details under report section)
